On the road...

We're taking the blog on the road again folks...this time to the Scrapper's Dream Vacation in Disneyworld!!! SDV And I have quite a history! I started going in Virginia Beach, where I has started scrapbooking to fight extreme morning (and afternoon and night) sickness and loneliness when we first moved there! I had no friends, and no one to scrapbook with! I heard there was a scrapbooking convention at a hotel nearby, and I had no idea what I was getting into! I signed up for the local package, and drove myself to and from the hotel every night! I sat with strangers, and actually made some friends, and I WON THE PAGE CONTEST! My first time out! I was thrilled, and with the $100 SDV bucks I won, I bought the Paper STacker Tote I still have and use today! I continued to attend SDV, for the 3 more years we lived there, and then when we moved to Sarasota, I was thrilled to find a bunch of scrappers that attend the DIsney SDV every year...it is so much bigger than the one I used to attend, and having it at Disney adds a special flair, I think! So once again, for Year 8, I am off to SDV! And Amy is coming to meet Gail and I from Chicago! YIppee! We'll be taking pics, and posting once a day if I can find wireless...the store is still open and hopping...lots of new great product just waiting for you!!!

This new and wonderful line just arrived today...perfect timing wouldn't you say? There is something for everyone...from preschool to senior year...paper, stickers and more...people shopped it off the tables today as Candi was getting it all in the register...so make sure you come and get yours!  

Respecting Faye

Out of respect for Tropical Storm Faye, and for the safety of the K2 Krewe and customers, K2 Scrapbook Studio will be closed on Tuesday. I personally plan to spend the day packing for....SDV!!! Yippee! It feels like DejaVu...not too many years ago we left for Orlando and then came Hurricane Charlie! Hopefully this will be nothing like that, just some wind and rain, but let's all be careful and stay indoors! We were hoppin' today so I think a lot of like-minded people thought they would come in and stock up for the next few rainy days! Amanda, Gail and Amy and I will be at SDV! So excited! We leave on Wed. afternoon! and JOCIE- we will miss you girl, it won't be the same without you there! Patty-hope you have a safe time in the hotel, don't worry about your paper...if anyone should worry about paper, it should be me! And here is a little secret I"ll let you all in on...Melodee Langworthy has just confirmed that she is coming to K2, to teach at least 3 workshops on the first weekend of December! She is amazing and you are all gonna want to check this out...more details next week after I get back and we get in touch! But mark your calendars because the first SAturday in December is not a day you are going to want to miss! Ok, that is all the news...I hope the first day of school (MY GOD CAROL...high school? driving out on their own? UGH!) went well for all! And see you Wednesday for Scrap n Dash...

Happy First Day of School!!!

Such an exciting day for moms and kids alike! Remember everyone, the School Zone's are back in effect! Driving back from the hospital this morning, the cops were lined up along the Southside School Zone pulling over all kinds of folks, so don't get caught unaware! I can't believe my littlest one starts Kindergarden today...where did the time go? And Lauren is in 3rd grade...I remember 3rd grade, it just doesn't seem possible! All you moms out there, do yourselves a nice favor and after your drop off the little ones, stop by Starbucks for a latte, and then drop into K2 for a quick trip to the ARt Bar to relax...or just shop a little without little ones underfoot! Hope you all had a great summer and that School year '08-'09 is a happy and funfilled one!

Goodbye Daisy D's...

Here is some sad and shocking news, and I guess a real testament to how bad the economy really...I just found out that one of my favorite companies, Daisy D's, is going out of business! I found out because our order of amazing new papers was late in arriving, and it turns out it didn't arrive because it was never produced. I am so bummed out! So I just wanted to throw out a huge thankyou to all of our loyal customers, because without you, we might not be able to stay open! We have had a wonderful year and things just keep getting better, but I know how rare and special that is! So thank you to all of our customers, we stay open FOR YOU, and BECAUSE OF YOU! And don't worry, I"ll find something else equally amazing to fill the spot in the Studio I had saved for that DAisy D's order!

Something new in a ALBUM!

  Narratives has put out an amazing concept...it's an album, but it stands like an easel...thus the ingenious name of Easel Frame Album! These albums are gorgeous, and Candi and I have a heck of a time trying to decide what colors to get, as it comes in Antique Black/Cream, Melon Bloom and Berry Bloom. Each album has 16 pages of diecut patterned paper, Narratives style, 3 printed transparency dividers, a front cover window frame, and an easel back for upright display! so now everyone can see how beautiful your precious work is!I, for one, think this is fabulous because I am always looking for new ways to display my mini-book addiction!
